A 17-year old’s perspective of the 1967 Detroit Riots

As a Gen-Xer born during the turbulent days of the late Sixties, I’ve often thought of myself as being bred in a cauldron of the most heated issues that faced our nation at that time. Issues of civil justice, of the equality of women and minorities, of the disdain for war and the distrust of authority. I sometimes think I can’t help myself for being such a rebel — I was birthed in the revolution. Power to the People, right on!
